Iilex crenata "kinme", commonly known asagrifoglio japanese kinme, is an evergreen shrub belonging to the aquifoliaceae family. has small leaves of lanceolate shape with a bright green color that grow very thick. initially they are born of a slightly golden color, effect that lasts a few weeks. prefers a fertile soil, with a low percentage of limestone and does not tolerate arid climate. if not limited and guided by prunings, it can take over the years picturesque and irregular shapes. is mainly used in the creation of hedges and ornamental shrubs. thanks to its resistance to pruning, it is used in the realization of topiarie arts, in fact it is very common to find it in the form of giant bonsai.
