delosperma cooperi

description

the delosperma cooperi, commonly called crystalline cooper grass, is a perennial succulent plant adhering to the aizoaceae family. has small fleshy leaves of grey-green color that create a thick and low carpet, almost radiant to the ground. from late spring and until autumn the plant is sprinkled with margheritiform flowers from abundant petals. requires an exposure in full sun, necessary to lighten the flowers and to stimulate a very rich and colorful flowering, while in partial shade situations the flowering may be poorer with more lush leaves. requires poor soil, dry sand or stone, as long as permeable. tolerates a lot of drought periods (even prolonged) and salinity of sea winds in coastal locations. resists to minimum temperatures of some degrees below zero.
