the salix babylonica, commonly called weeping willow, is a fallen leaf tree belonging to the salicaceae family. has a rough and short stem with grey and very grooved bark. has a wide and disordered foliage, with long thin and green secondary branches that come to touch earth. The narrow leaves have a lanceolate shape, in serrated margin, of light green colour on the upper page and grey-green below. prefers sunny positions with rich and deep soils, not excessively draining as they need constantly wet soils. does not fear the cold and endures very intense and prolonged frost problems. They fear drought very much.
