the Salix alba, commonly known as white willow, is a caduca leaf plant, fast growing, belonging to the salicaceae family. has a conical bearing, with thin branches and pendants at the ends, with lanceolate leaves, serrated, of light green colour on the upper page, silver white on the lower one. the young branches are grey-greenish, while the bark is green-reddish that is cracked in the adult specimens. predililge rich and deep soils, not excessively draining, in sunny locations. does not fear the cold, endured without problems very intense and prolonged frosts. They fear drought very much.
