The acer palmatum “bloodgood”, commonly called Japanese maple, is a deciduous shrub belonging to the sapindaceae family. Has a rounded foliage with dark purple red leaves. It is a cold-resistant plant and prefers rich and well drained soils. Can also be arranged in areas in half shade. It is used as an ornamental plant in large parks and small gardens, both as a solo and group specimen.

Leaf: the palm leaves have length of about 10 cm and width of 12 cm. Are of a burgundy color that changes in the summer season tend to bronze, while in autumn before falling assume purple red colors.
